Samsung has introduced a range of LED light fixtures into the US market, enabled by the company’s vertically-integrated manufacturing capabilities.

Samsung, the Korean LED manufacturer and consumer-electronics giant, has announced its entry into the LED lighting market by unveiling a series of LED replacement lamps at the Lightfair tradeshow.

Samsung’s initial line-up of LED lamps ranges from omni-directional incandescent replacements to fluorescent and PAR replacement lamps for homes and businesses.

Samsung has a vertically-integrated supply chain producing LED chips, packaged LEDs, modules, light engines and now lamps.

Philip Warner, Vice President of Samsung LED America, said that Samsung will put its full research and design might into developing the next generation of LED lamps. “We will not dilute our offerings with high-efficiency incandescent or even CFLs, as these are yesterday’s technologies. Our focus is 100-percent on LED,” he said.
